the best valentines day idea i've ever heard

i stole this idea from my vox friend electric firefly's blog. i think it's an amazing idea, so i'm spreading the word to you!

according to legend, St. Valentine is not only the patron saint of lovers, but of prisoners. this valentine's day, why not write a letter of encouragement to a prisoner? just drop a note to a prisoner -- one you know personally, one whose story touched your heart, or one who is injustly incarcerated because of a cause you support -- to let them know you are thinking of them this valentine's day.

Six Resentenced to Death in Libyan AIDS Case

Five Bulgarian nurses and one Palestinian doctor have been charged with the death sentence on claims of infecting 426 Libyan children with the AIDS virus, though independent researchers have stated the infection probably occured before their arrival due to poor hygiene in the hospitals.
